Since its inception in 2016, MCN and its Committee have spoken in hundreds of media interviews across all outlets and platforms to amplify the voice of maternity consumers, advocate for change and ensure the maternity space is not forgotten. Here is a small snippet of some of our media interviews:

An award-nominated campaign in Queensland where we worked with Theodore, Chinchilla and central Queensland families to share their plight as a result of almost half of our rural maternity services closing.

An award nominated ABC piece on birth trauma with journalist, Elly Bradfield. This also made RN.

Birth trauma classes to be rolled out 

Our Better Births with Consent workshops got some good coverage by ABC as they were Australia's first Respectful Maternity Care Training.

NSW Birth trauma Inquiry

The first of its kind in the world. Women from Wagga Wagga in NSW who'd experienced profound abuse and humiliation. Thanks to the support of MP, Emma Hurst, and media, these stories were told and set the foundation for the NSW Birth Trauma Inquiry.

ABC investigative journalist, April McLennan worked with MCN and Tasmanian maternity consumers to break this story on the abuse and mistreatment of women at Launceston General Hospital
