Consultations & Advice

Facing a difficult situation in your pregnancy? We can help you:

  • Understand your rights

  • Discuss care options

Fee for 1 hour consultation, appropriate email support: $50

HCC holders: free 

Referrals

Need legal advice or mental health help from professionals experienced in dealing with obstetric violence and negligence? We can refer you to trauma-informed: 

  • Legal representation

  • Perinatal psychologists

  • Affordable or free self-help tools

Political Advocacy

We write letters to MPs and government organisations to advance perinatal healthcare. Campaigns include rural maternity services, birth trauma prevention, more Midwifery Group Practice, increased Medicare Rebate for Endorsed Midwives. 

Representations & Complaints

Making a complaint about your pregnancy, birth, or postpartum care? We can:

  • Provide a letter of representation to your hospital

  • Assist with writing complaints to the appropriate regulatory authorities (e.g. AHPRA, HCCC)

Fee for consultation, letter and follow-up communication: $50

HCC holders: free

Meetings and Consumer representation 

Are you a health service and in need of a maternity consumer representative? We have a vast network of consumer representatives we can draw upon. 

If you're a woman who would like to become a consumer representative, we have free training and mentorship. 

Research

We can assist academics and researchers recruit maternity consumers for woman-centred research projects or have several consumer representative that have been involved in research projects as Consumer Investigators.
